Burns & Levinson LLP, a mid-size law firm in Boston, has an opening for an experienced patent legal administrative assistant (3-5 years patent experience) to join our very busy Patent Prosecution Department. This position is responsible for supporting and assisting patent attorneys with all administrative work relating to US, PCT and foreign patent applications, information disclosure statements, assignments, responses, and all documentation associated with correspondence to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”). Other responsibilities include preparation of correspondence to foreign associates relating to foreign patent applications, communication with clients and foreign associates throughout application’s prosecution, maintenance of patent portfolios, uploading and filing of application and all other documents/fees with the USPTO, uploading and filing assignment with Electronic Patent Assignment System, monitoring of attorneys’ dockets, and other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will have excellent organizational, word processing, communication and deadline management skills. Online USPTO filing experience is required. The ability to pay attention to detail, multi-task and juggle priorities is essential. Must be self-motivated and a self-starter; will be expected to attend to multiple tasks without being told or requested.
