Working with firm management, this position is responsible for leading the firm’s billing
team to ensure client billings are processed timely and accurately. This position offers the right
candidate the opportunity to draw on their extensive billing experience to further develop the
firm’s billing policies and practices. The Billing Manager must be able to guide the billing team
through the monthly processes, identify and troubleshoot billing issues, implement e-billing
platforms and work with all levels of firm staff as well as client support teams. This position
will be assigned a portion of the firm billings and therefore must be able to both perform all
billing functions as well as lead the billing team. The majority of the firm’s clients utilize ebilling
platforms therefore thorough knowledge of and experience with these systems and
understanding of appeal processes is a must.
 
 

Requirements

Requirements & Responsibilities:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Law Firm billing with heavy emphasis on ebilling.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Accounting or Finance.
  • Prior supervisory experience with ability to provide proper guidance, support and leadership to the billing team to foster and ensure the success of the billing team.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in a professional/gracious manner with all levels of firm staffing as well as client contacts and support teams.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work flows to ensure timely period closing.
  • Ability to quickly identify and work to resolve billing issues.
  • Gain a strong understanding of client billing requirements and payment patterns as well as understanding the firm’s billing system abilities to ensure proper inventory management and realization.
  • Run reports and review team member’s progress to assist management with timely closing and reporting to firm ownership.
