Job Details

Michael Best is hiring a Docketing Specialist to work in either the Chicago, Madison or Milwaukee office.  The Docketing Specialist will work closely with the Docketing Manager and Intellectual Property practice group to analyze, update, and maintain records on docketing software. 
  • Analyze US and foreign IP prosecution correspondence, identify applicable information, and enter into the docket system (Anaqua)
  • Follow strict guidelines
  • Calendar and docket IP due dates in docket system
  • Monitor and maintain integrity of data in docket system
  • Stay informed of US and foreign PTO rules and procedures
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Team player and positive attitude is a must
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of multi-office team
  • Flexibility to appropriately manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of IP docket software, preferably Anaqua
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Quick learner, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Comfortable learning and adapting to changing workflows and/or procedures
  • Demonstrated "client first" mentality: responsive, flexible, adaptable


Education and Experience Requirements:
  • 3 years IP Docketing experience preferred
  • Experience in legal industry or professional service industry is preferred
  • Paralegal certificate or Bachelor's Degree is a plus
