Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman's Intellectual Property Practice has an immediate opening for second to third year Associate with strong academic credentials and a demonstrated commitment to litigating Hatch-Waxman/ANDA or pharmaceutical cases. The ideal candidate will have solid ANDA or pharmaceutical litigation and trial experience, and will already have substantial experience functioning successfully in a fast-paced, service oriented environment. The candidate will work closely with top lawyers on a wide variety of ANDA and litigation matters.
The IP Section handles a wide range of litigation in state and federal courts and before government agencies. Responsibilities include litigation case management, taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings and briefs, managing discovery, and researching and analyzing complex technical issues. Responsibilities also include counseling clients regarding all related legal aspects, drafting agreements, and providing subject matter expertise. The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills and solid experience in all phases of discovery, drafting and filing pleadings, motions, discovery and briefs.
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, and a Juris Doctor degree (JD) from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of or able to waive into the District of Columbia bar. Science degree is preferred. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, oral advocacy and writing skills, strong analytical, technical, organizational and time management skills, and knowledge of ethics and conduct codes, which are a requirement for the proper and legal practice of the law.
